Product Shot 1The Sony BDZ-RS10 is an unreleased Blu-ray Disc DVR announced in Japan on August 26th, 2009. As an entry level Blu-ray DVR, the Sony BDZ-RS10 includes a single digital tuner and 320GB of hard drive storage.

Users can record to either the hard disk or a recordable Blu-ray Disc. Improvements over previous models include a new CREAS 2 engine for improved video playback quality and upscaling support, plus a new Dynamic VBR mode for better video recording. Unlike the additional Blu-ray DVRs announced at the same time by Sony, this particular model does not feature DLNA support for sharing media content over a home network. In addition, the BDZ-RS10 is not able to stream content to Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) or X-1000 series portable media players. This product is scheduled to be released On September 12th in Japan, but no U.S. release date has been announced.
