Samsung BD-P1590
$200.00
Released May, 2009
The Pros:Affordable price. Automatic firmware update. Attractive aesthetic.
The Cons:Not too far off from a PS3 Slim. Slow disc loading times. Over-sensitive touch controls.
The Samsung BD-P1590 is a store-specific version of the BD-B1600 released strictly for Walmart at a more expensive price. It’s a near duplicate BD player, save for its Walmart branding. It plays BDs, CDs, and DVDs at a resolution up to 1080p (DVD upconversion included), but also hosts a plethora of inputs for connecting to a compatible HDTV screen, as well as composite, component, and s-video devices as well.

It plays a DVD for about an hour before the picture scrambles. Restarting does not fix the problem.
