Product Shot 1 The Pros:Audio output through HDMI to a receiver is excellent, covers a wide dynamic range. Easy to use remote control, comfortable to hold and work with. Upconverts DVDs to very near HD quality, looks really great.

The Cons:Videophiles may notice aliasing and a lack of crispness in text, very slight amount of softness.

The Onkyo DV-BD507 is an advanced CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc player released in mid 2009. It accepts any Blu-ray, DVD, or CD video disc and then transmits full HD 1080p signals — via HDMI 1.3a or 1080p upscaling — to any compatible display or secondary A/V receiver.

The unit also includes an SD/SDHC card slot for handling AVCHD video clips. Signature to the Onkyo DV-BD507 is its BD-Live (Profile 2) functionality, which allows the device to connect to the Internet in real time and access interactive online content. As for audio, the player relies on on Dolby and DTS decoding to ensure studio-quality surround sound with minimal noise and interference. Suffice it to say, the DV-BD507 is a high-quality BD player recommended as an addition to a pre-existing Onkyo surround-sound, at-home theater system.
