Product Shot 1 The Pros:Upconversion of DVDs is excellent, looks very nearly HD. Audio upconversion is good too, fills out compressed audio. Can play a DVD of MP3s on random, great for parties.

The Cons:Generates a lot of heat during operation, need to make sure it has ventilation.

The JVC XV-BP 11 is a blu-ray player that shows many improvements over the old model, the JVC XC-BP 1. It offers support for AVCHD file playback and has HDMI 1.3 connectivity. The JVC XV-BP 11 can play a wide variety of media, including BD-Rom, BD-R/RE, DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, Audio CD, CD-R/RW discs.

It also supports the following formats: AVCHD, WMV, JPEG, MP3, WMA, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital plus, Dolby True HD, DTS, DTS HD Master Audio/Essential. In addition to HDMI, the Blu-ray player also has composite video and supports analog L/R and coaxial audio. A USB port on the front panel allows direct connection to camcorders and other devices.
