In fact, the SR-HD1250 can both record AND author professional BDMV or BDAV discs. Included also is MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (h.264) encoding for accessing both HD and SD sources; a built-in downconverter that allows HD content to be recorded on a standard DVD; and up to 250GB of internal storage space. Keep in mind that the unit is not built for recording television content; rather, it takes content from camcorders and/or other devices and captures them instead. After capturing content, users can utilize the unit’s easy-to-operate menu interface to edit and assemble clips into a completed project.
