Denon DVD-1800BD

$749.00 Released December, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Upconverts and deinterlaces standard definition DVDs. 7.1 analog output for older non-HDMI compatible receivers.

The Cons:Very expensive compared to other bluray players. Doesn't come with Profile 2.0 capabilities.

The Denon DVD-1800BD is a lower end Blu-Ray player than Denon's own 3800BDCI and is basically a more slimmed down version; the 1800BD does not come with BD Live (Profile 2.0) support only Bonusview (Profile 1.1).

It does however come installed with an SDHC card slot allowing consumers to download content from their PC and interact with it on their 1800BD through the use of an SD card. It does provide support for Dolby True-HD and Dolby DTS-HD high quality audio formats as well as full 1080p HD resolution. The 1800BD features precision de-interlacing and upconversion for standard DVD's through an HDMI port. The 1800BD also supports home video playback and has a Divx v6 codec for Divx VCD or DVD video playback as well. The 1800BD has no specific release date as of yet besides the aforementioned "late 2008" blurb and is set to retail around Denon's quoted MSRP price of $749.
